Well well well. Who would have thought it? Pixar has stated that they will be moving their production unit to Apple G5s running OSX. The fact that Steve Jobs is CEO of both companies is just a conincidence, right? (Check out the Reality Distortion Field!)? :-) With the new Xserve G5 now out, the Xserve RAID in place and Xgrid software evolving nicely, it was just a matter of time...
You might like to check out Virginia Tech's G5 super computer story - currently the world's third fastest supercomputer at a fraction of the cost of other supercomputers. They have now dumped their production line G5s in favour of the G5 Xserves to save power!
